Former Olympian Exame and His Partner to Propose A Surprising Proposal To Change Olympic Rule
Former Olympians Exame Andrologo and his partner, Jodi Finken, plan to propose a new rule change at the 2016 Olympics.
Finken told the Denver Post that the proposal is about changing the rule so that athletes can’t be penalized for the first time in a competition or a medal race.
She said she and Exame had discussed the proposal for months and were in talks about getting it through the IOC and the American Olympic Committee.
She said that if the proposal passed, it would make the Olympic rule, and all other international rules, more fair.
Exame has a track record of making controversial proposals, including a proposal to have a transgender member of the U.S. Olympic team in Rio.
In that proposal, Exame advocated that athletes should be allowed to transition to the gender with which they identify in a sport.
The proposal was rejected by the IOC.
