El Tri to meet with CONCACAF president at CONCACaf meeting
JUAN GONZÁLEZ – APAJOS, Tamaulipas (AP) CONCACACAF President John Guadalupe García has invited El Tri star Diego Valeri to take part in a soccer friendly match between El Tri and CONCACampico, the club announced on its official Twitter account.
The game is scheduled for June 25 in Tampico.
The game is part of El Tri’s two-week tour to promote the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2020 Olympics in London.
Valeri is currently on the international duty roster for El Tri.
The CONCACaff, which is headquartered in San Salvador, has been in the process of finalizing the schedule for the 2018 World Cup.
It is scheduled to kick off June 10 in Guadalajara and run through July 5 in Guatemala City.
The Costa Rican soccer team will play its first match in the Caribbean nation on Sunday, June 11 against Jamaica.
The match will be streamed live on the Costa Rican national television channel, Unión TV, with the rest of the match broadcast on El Tri TV.
The El Tri squad, which features players from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale, will be coached by Guadalupan coach Diego Sanchez.
The 2017 CONCAC Champions League Final against Spanish club Real Madrid will take place on June 26 in San Lorenzo, the tournament’s host city.
